In the autumn of 2019, the Rugby World Cup takes place in Japan, with matches being played in a number of cities, including Tokyo, Yokohama, Kobe and Fukuoka.
This is the first time that the Rugby World Cup has been held in Asia, but Japan has played rugby for nearly 100 years, since the Japan Rugby Football Union was founded in 1926.
The 2019 Rugby World Cup takes place in Japan, in Tokyo, Yokohama, Ōita, Kumagaya and other cities
From September 20th 2019 the Rugby World Cup will host teams from around the world in league-based group matches, followed by a knockout stage of quarter-finals, semi-finals and the final held at the International Stadium Yokohama, in Yokohama.
So if you're visiting Japan this autumn, then try and get down to see one of these rugby matches!
